New York State Tobacco Cessation Centers

The New York State Department of Health funds 19 Tobacco Cessation Centers to collaborate with health care organizations and providers.  Utilizing the PHS Clinical Practice Guideline, the centers can help implement systems to screen patients for tobacco use and prompt providers to offer advice and assistance to help their patients become tobacco free.  The centers offer provider training on treating tobacco use and dependence.  Free CME credits are available for providers who participate in the training.

We encourage our providers to contact their local Tobacco Cessation Center to learn how they can screen and assist patients with quitting. Click here for a list of centers.
